So here I am in sitting in Starbucks listening to indie R&B on this pretty Saturday afternoon in the city. I'm somewhere along Yonge street. It's mad sunny outside and just a bit too hot for my all black. But I love black. I figure this is a good time to introduce myself, my name is Renee. A name I used to hate. But that's besides the point. Allow me to welcome you to createurTO. My newest brainchild. Something that developed out of my burning desire to be inspired. I am a lover of all the arts. I love to write, I love to read, I love music, I love dance, I love fashion, I love movies and tv, and I'm developing a love for painting and art. I am a creative. I have a passion for all things creative. Living in the northern part of the city, in suburbia, sources of inspiration are few and far between. Maybe my network is too small or just not right but it's hard finding other truly creative minds to interact with. I started searching social networks for #torontoart and came across a lot of really dope people and works of art from right here. But not enough. I kept thinking there has to be more! There's no way that there is such a small amount if people creating. So here we are. The first thing to understand about createurTO is that it's a community. It's a place to come to be inspired and to inspire. We will showcase the work of urban Toronto creatives with their permission with the simple intent of showing that there is talent here. The underbelly of this city is so diverse, so eclectic & createurTO is here it bring it to the forefront. This is the the beginning. Come back and visit.
