showcasing: Kofi Frempong

The magical thing about love is that it can be expressed in so many ways. Most speak of it, many write about it, and then there are those who can paint you a picture to show you what it looks like  - literally. Kofi Frempong is one of those people.  Born in Ghana and raised in Toronto, Kofi has been using a paintbrush and canvass to share his thoughts, experiences, and emotions for over 30 years.  The self-taught artist  draws inspiration from everything from music and interactions with people (strangers and friends alike), to his young daughter and wife - who is currently carrying their second child.  As a result, his art is also a visual journal of his every day life.
Since going public with his work in 2012, Kofi has garnered much attention and gained a strong following due to his unique style of painting.  His use of large canvasses,  bold and bright colors, and vivid interpretations of love and life have become his signature. Kofi's pictures make you stop and think.  There's always much to take in and discuss.  And when you walk away, it's hard to forget what you saw and how it made you feel.  The emotions, the energy, the experience , the love - it stays with you and for Kofi, that is what matters the most.
